Vital Essentials Provides Local and National Support

Vital Essentials® continues their pledge to spread happiness and relief to those in need during these unprecedented times by sending out Vital Care Packages filled with pet food and treats to worthy recipients throughout May.
We put out a request for nominations of deserving pet-parents who could use a little extra happiness, and we were overwhelmed with the number of nominations. We received more than 300 nominations filled with stories of pet-parents who were going through difficult times but still wanted to make sure their best fur-iends were taken care of.
“I am having a hard time feeding us humans right now but my dogs will always be my top priority,” one nominee said. “To receive a care package for them would ease the anxiety I feel about keeping them well fed and healthy.”
Another nominee described the uncertainties of being laid off from work.
“I have been feeling anxious and down in the dumps through this entire pandemic and my dog has really been the thing that helps me most,” the nominee said. “I do my best to feed him things that are good for him and he loves Vital Essentials products!”
From these nominations, we mailed care packages of Vital Essentials and Vital Cat® food and treats to 20 recipients across the United States to help provide some much needed relief.
“My mom got the care package from you and was really excited,” one recipient said. “And the best part is that her picky scruffy pup absolutely loves the food! A sprinkle of that Toppers powder and she ate her whole dinner, which doesn’t happen often!”
Another recipient described receiving the care package after the recent loss of one of her dogs.
“Jaeger was a lover of anything yummy. He would have loved them!” she said. “My other pets are still enjoying their treats. Thank you! I appreciate the wonderful care package from your company.”
The care packages are part of our COVID-19 response plan, which also included the service donation of our UV sterilization machine and a $100,000 donation to Wisconsin nonprofits along with a Vital Relief Challenge to encourage other businesses to donate locally.
